Electrical

1. In this early picture, which was taken shortly after we started the remodel in May of 2005, you can see the electrical meter on the back wall. Obviously, when we built a room over this new foundation, that meter was enclosed. Not only that, the main wires coming in from the street ran right into the upstairs addition. We planned and coordinated with the city from the start, so moving everything turned out to be easier than we thought.

2. This picture, taken approximately a year later, shows the new location of the electrical meter.

3. The old electrical panels. Yikes, doesn’t even begin to describe it. More like: I can’t believe someone hasn’t been electrocuted, or this house hasn’t burned down yet.

5. Conduit the runs from the new panel into the crawl. In the crawl, there’s a junction box, which ties the old wiring into the new. Even the electrical inspector was impressed with this.
