We passed our final electrical and building inspections in mid December!! This does NOT mean the house is done. Unfortunately. What it means is everything functions–the plumbing, electrical, heating, gutters, smoke detectors, etc. What’s left? Hard wood flooring, tile in the laundry room, built-ins, all the trim work around the windows and doors, floors and ceilings, and probably a lot of itty bitty stuff I’m not currently remembering. (And I won’t even mention the kitchen remodel we plan on doing.) Here’s a few pictures from our finishing touches:

In the master bath:

Grout and sealing finished; plumbing fixtures installed.



Lighting:

The first picture is one of the two lights in my future office. (Yes, the writing on the light bulb still needs to be wiped off.) The second is the main hall light. There will be two sconces on either side of the window, as well. We’re still waiting for them to arrive via UPS. As you can see, we also got the hallway painted, and finished installing all of the stair rails and ballister posts.
