Bust Out the Apron!

For you food lovers and chefs out there, check out these cool sites:

101 Cookbooks: a blog by Heidi Swanson, the author of several cookbooks, including Cook 1.0 and Super Natural Cooking. This site chronicles her adventures with recipes, and how they intersectswith her life, her travels, and her everyday interests.

Also by Heidi Swanson: Mighty Foods: “the who, what, how and why of natural foods.”

Sustainable Table “celebrates the sustainable food movement, educates consumers on food-related issues and works to build community through food.” You can find farms, grocers, and restaurants that grow or use sustainable food through this site. Their blog also features great articles on the hidden side of the food market–additives, labels, corporate control of organics, etc.

Local Harvest Another great site that features links to local, organically produced foods and food products.

And, of course, I can’t leave out Food and Wine. I love these guys. I cook out of their magazine—and old cookbooks I occasionally find at the thrift store—all the time.

Get busy cooking!
